This list Š 1999 - 2023 John Biggar. This list is now believed to be about 99% accurate i.e. there are probably 10 or so peaks not included that should be and perhaps one or two included that should not be. All heights are in metres.
Heights in red below have been revised due to digital elevation data (mainly the SRTM data). Many thanks to Jonathan de Ferranti (2005) and Eberhard Jurgalski (2013) for help with this.

The criterion used to select this list is a re-ascent height of 400m from any higher peak.
The grid co-ordinates are included to help distinguish un-named and similarly named peaks. They are for the top right (i.e. NE) corner of the latitude-longitude block in which the mountain appears, this is the usual convention on South American maps.
The peaks are arranged in groups of ten. An asterisk by the date of first ascent denotes a peak known to have had a Pre-Columbian ascent, or on which ruins have been found high up. The date of the first modern ascent is also given when known. Dates in brackets indicate a disputed first ascent.

***** Notes :-
221 - Antisana - Highest SRTM cell is only 5692m, so it may
be considerably lower.
226 - Gigante - the neighbouring peak of
Jachacunocollo is quite likely to be higher.
232 - Tunshu - Highest SRTM cell
is just 5667m so may well be lower than this height.
234 - Colon and Bolivar.
An ANDES trip led by John Biggar made an ascent of Pico Colon in December
2015. It was possibly the first ascent of this difficult to access mountain for
many years. A GPS reading on the summit, averaged over ten minutes, gave a
height of c.5730m for Colon. Bolivar's height will be within a meter or two
of this. either up or down, we could not tell.!
