Hualca Hualca 6025m

Hualca Hualca is an extinct volcano in southern Peru on which Inca remains have been found at a great altitude. The mountain is located on the very edge of what is claimed to be the world's deepest canyon the Colca Canyon.

Walking in towards Hualca Hualca from Pinchollo. The highest peak is supposedly the central snowy peak at the left hand end, but there is some doubt about this!

We can organise guided ascents of this peak. For details of how to climb Hualca Hualca and the neighbouring peaks of Ampato and Sabancaya, please see our guidebooks, which are available in English, Spanish, Polish and French editions, direct from us or from all good bookshops and mountaineering shops.
