Campanario 3942m
One of the highest peak in Patagonia and reputedly unclimbed due to the horrible unstable mud and boulders of the summit tower! However the area around the peak and the neighbouring Laguna del Maule is a great ski-mountaineering destination in the Chilean springtime.
Campanario in winter from the west.
Campanario (in the distance on the left) and the Laguna del Maule form the air in springtime.
For details of how to climb Campanario and neighbouring peaks please see our guidebooks, which are available in English and French editions, direct from us or from all good bookshops and mountaineering shops.
