Ollague 5868m
Ollague is one of the easiest big peaks in the world to climb. There is an old road on the north side to a disused sulphur mine at 5800m. This makes it one of the best places in the world to try extreme altitude mountain biking.
Biking down at 5700m on Ollague, taken on our "Monster Descent" mountain bike expedition. It was great fun ripping back down over 5000m of descent all the way to the Pacific Ocean.
The high road can be seen zig-zagging up the northwest face of the volcanoe in this photo of Ollague from the village
We can organise guided ascents and mountain bike descents of this peak. For details of how to climb Ollague and neighbouring peaks please see our guidebooks, which are available in English, Spanish, Polish and French editions, direct from us or from all good bookshops and mountaineering shops.
